CI – My personal stationary

This is my personal logo design. I am very happy with it has it really does represent me and an individual and a designer. It is vibrant, creative and hand made which is me all over.

TB – The finals – reflection

This is the final boards that Amy and I handed into the D&AD. Over all I am very happy with the outcome as we took a simple idea and made it work without over complicating it. I feel that completing a D&AD brief last year gave me the much needed experience and knowledge to complete this years brief so successfully. However this years brief has also taught me a lot about myself as a designer and I now can confirm I work very effectively under pressure.

Idea development

We needed to begin developing the ideas for the photo board. As we were still slightly torn between the royal and seaside theme we carried on using both until we had decided. Chloe drew up these simple pen drawings then they were painted so they were more vibrant. Next we need to scan them in to manipulate them and add them together. This will help us to develop the characters and hopefully finalise our theme. Screen shot 2013-03-18 at 18.49.23Screen shot 2013-03-18 at 18.50.06Screen shot 2013-03-18 at 18.49.46

Research- Royalty

After doing more extensive research we have found that Ted Baker have already used the seaside theme. We have decided to look more at the royal family, so have thought about broadening the horizons to prince and princess. We brainstormed some ideas and found with this idea we can do the same as what we thought for seaside but apply the different theme. So instead of handing out buckets and spades, we could have paper crowns and princess hats and flags etc. Screen shot 2013-03-18 at 02.37.17

Research- British Seaside

Now were going down the holiday path, thinking about Ted going on holiday, and what he might do when he is there. This is a little mood board of stereotypical things you might see in a seaside town.

Now, we can start thinking of where we can apply these ideas to different touch points. We have already started to think of a few little ideas, such as:

  • Ted Baker Rocks in a stick of stick to hand out
  • Photo Board
  • Photo room with props and Ted baker clothes.
  • Flags TB logo to hand out
  • bucket and spades

Concept Ideas

Myself and Chloe really wanted to take the funny side of Ted Baker to China, so trying to bring british heritage and british humour that internationals understand is a challenge. To start we took things from our british heritage post and british humour post and wrote them in lists to get connections.

After we needed to have something more visual to get going so we are taking images of both categories and putting them side by side to think of connections between them.

After creating these we were thinking of a few different options:

  • typical working class family in china.
  • Ted goes on holiday
  • Black adder in typical english settings

Below there is images been put together in Photoshop to help get our funny juices flowing.

We began thinking about Ted goes on holiday and british family holidays. The next step is to look into a stereotypical british holiday and get some inspiration.
