This is my finished final 3D image design. Overall I am very pleased with the finished piece and I am pleased to see what I can achieve in 3D. I felt unsure when I started this assignment as I struggle in 3D, however I became quite confident the more I worked on my fox. The hardest part of the assignment was adding texture as I found it hard to remember the process but I over came the problem and solved it. One particular thing I am pleased with is that I have added all the detail and textures in Houdini and done very little in photoshop. The only thing I have done in PhotoShop was the sky and changing the levels of the colours etc so they all match. I would like to create something more complex in 3D however this will take more practice of Houdini and of course time.
These are my three separate render parts to put together in Photo Shop.
I have added texture to a new bow tie I have made. I used UV texture to place it on. I found it hard to figure out how to do it but I managed it and I am really pleased with the result. However, I had to change the bow tie as the texture wouldn’t work on the previous one.
Here I have added fur to my fox. I found a fox fur texture from google and placed a UV texture sop. I found this part very challenging but I am pleased with the outcome.
I added the eyes and bow tie by creating spheres, editing them and moving them around. I feel this worked quite well and gives my fox a good cartoon appearance.
By adding the colour it started to bring my cartoon fox to life, however I don’t want to have my fox one colour in the finished piece, I want it to have a texture.
This is the very start of my 3D fox. I started building the fox out of spheres and using poly extrudes.
